  Grand Opening of Stingray Bay March 1 - 2 Ever wondered what it would be like to pet a stingray?  Well visit the Stingray Bay at the Zoo and find out!  There is a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on March 1st.  Enjoy live entertainment and informational booths until 4:00 p.m. each day.  There is an admission charge of $3 for children, adults and seniors and $2.50 for members for Stingray Bay.

ExZOOberation - Annual Zoo Fundraiser April 12, 6:30 p.m. Enjoy “A Night in TUSKany” at ExZOOberation, a casual, adult evening fundraiser to benefit the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.  Now in its 13th year, ExZOOberation is one of Jacksonville’s premier events,  Tickets are $175 per person and $100 for junior patrons (35 years and younger).  Please call (904) 757-4463 ext. 196 to purchase tickets.

 Earth Day Celebration - Party for the Planet! April 20, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Celebrate Earth Day at Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens’ Party for the Planet event!  Guests can learn how to take care of our earth by visiting environmental and animal conservation booths.  There will also be children’s activities and live entertainment.    

 Spring Into Bloom April 26 & 27, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Join us at the new Gardens of Trout River Plaza and the Great Lawn for Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ second annual spring extravaganza! Well-known local experts will be on hand to give presentations on how to grow, decorate, and cook with botanical and other plants.  There will also be garden tours, children’s activities, live entertainment and more!

 Tour the Gardens of the Zoo! Part one of a two-part walking tour series May 3, 9:30 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Meet outside the main entrance by 9:15 for check in Cost: $20 – members; $25 – non-members, includes admission to the Zoo Director of Horticulture, Bob Chabot, will start us off with an intro to the Gardens at the Zoo.  Guests will proceed to the lush gardens at Main Camp, stroll down the River of Color, and on to peruse the African garden of Savanna Blooms gardens.  Each tour is led by one of our very own knowledgeable Horticulture staff.

Teddy Bear Affair  May 10 Join Nemours’ Children’s Clinic at the Zoo between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for the annual Teddy Bear Affair. Kids who bring their injured teddy bears receive free admission and teddy bear check-ups to be performed by Nemours’ skilled staff

They have Teen Power, Art Camp Enviro Camp etc. The Special events area has upcoming events during the year, the site is not that easy to get around it will take some searching but there are tons of activities for all members of the family.
